Stephen “tWitch” Boss, a star of the “SYTYCD” and “Ellen Degeneres Show,” dies at age 40.
Stephen “tWitch” Boss, the adored DJ-turned-executive producer who spent nine years getting The Ellen DeGeneres Show’s audience on their feet and who got his big break on So You Think You Can Dance, passed away at the age of 40.
A representative confirmed that the dancer, choreographer, actor, and producer committed suicide on Tuesday. In a statement, the news was also confirmed by the spouse, Allison Holker Boss. On Wednesday, Holker announced that her husband, Stephen, had left the family. “I have to confess my husband Stephen has left us,” she stated. “Stephen brought light into every space he entered. Above all else, he treasured his family, friends, and community. He believed that the best way to lead was to lead with love and light. He was our family’s rock, the best husband and father, and an example to his followers.
To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his beneficial influence will still be felt, she added. There won’t be a day that goes by that we don’t remember him, I’m positive of that. In this trying time for myself and especially for our three kids, we ask for privacy.
“Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you,” she added in a message to her husband.
The couple, who met in 2010 while competing on So You Think You Can Dance, are parents to three kids.
