When you don’t lose yourself in resident evil 4 remake of the protagonist Leon dream abs, you may find yourself trapped in an uncomfortable reality filled with puzzles, some difficult and some just plain annoying. I do not know why RE4The imposing castle and outskirts are packed with elaborate, ponderous puzzle pieces when, in many cases, I’m sure a quaint set of Bananagrams would have scratched its parasitic inhabitant’s itch just as well. Plotting that many secret door unlocks seems like a lot more work than Bananagrams, and a lot more cumbersome.
However, I have solutions to offer you.
Turn around now if you’re determined to face resident evil 4The plague puzzle alone. But if you’re open to a little teamwork, here it is. You will find the answers to some of RE4The more difficult puzzles below.
How to solve the resident evil 4 redo the church puzzle
Puzzles found in: Chapter 4
Requires: The Blue Dial, which is inside the cabinet at the end of a hallway on the right side of the worship room.
Solved by: Patience. Once you’ve acquired the blue sphere, go to the left of the chipped stained glass window and pull the brass lever. The pulpit will open to reveal a red and green sphere; place the blue dial to the left of these. Start turning the dials, which rotate the broken crystals into their respective colors.
You want to position the broken glass so that it lines up perfectly with the Los Illuminados symbol still intact on the window. I found that turning the green dial first is the quickest way to solve this puzzle, as it outlines the pointy tip of the Los Illuminados symbol and much of its wing shape.
So watch the tip of the symbol as you spin the green glass and stop when they’ve lined up. Next, start moving the red glass; you can confirm that it is in the correct position by looking at the left and right “wings” of the symbol, which are nested in the red. Fill the remaining gaps with blue. You’ll know you’ve got it when the metal bars lift up and unlock your exit.
How to solve the RE4 redo cave puzzle
Puzzles found in: Chapter 4
Requires: The boat you acquired in Chapter 3, to quickly reach each cave location.
Solved by: By pressing buttons that match the symbols you find painted on the cave walls.
Not everyone has time for that, so here’s the quick answer. At the first puzzle location, in the Grand Cave Shrine, you need to press (in no particular order) the top left symbol (half circle squiggles), the top right symbol (sort of an apple shape), and the bottom (two short crosses sitting next to each other). A door will open leading to the Apostate’s Head Key.
In the Small Cave Shrine puzzle, enter the symbol on the left (a more squashed apple shape), bottom left (three waves), and bottom right (three chains spiraled together) in any order. You will be able to grab the blasphemer head and the hexagon C piece, which you will need for the hexagon puzzle.
How to solve the RE4 hexagon puzzle
Puzzles found in: Chapter 3, but concludes in Chapter 4
Requires: Hexagon Piece A to C. The first two pieces can be found in Chapter 3: Piece A in a wooden chest near the Merchant Lake location, and Piece B is a chest at the back of the fish farm, in Water. In Chapter 4, you will find the final C-Piece in the Little Cave Shrine, in a case next to the staircase.
Solved by: Add the three pieces to the puzzle and “(spin) shit for 10 minutes”, like Kotaku Staff writer Zack Zwiezen tipped me off earlier this week.
That pretty much sums it up, though it’s easier on assisted/standard difficulty: rotate the top group of pieces once, then the left group once. On Hardcore/Professional, adjust the top group once, the left group twice, and the right group twice. The hatch will open and release the depraved idol’s treasure.
How to solve the RE4 redo the lithograph puzzle
Puzzles found in: Chapter 8
Requires: Four “lithographic stones”, A through D. Stone A is already (incorrectly) placed on the puzzle wall when you arrive. If you’re playing on Supported/Standard difficulty, you’ll find the B stone on the shelf to the left of the wall, and the D stone to the left of that shelf, behind a display case in the back corner. Head left again to find Stone C on a stack of stone tablets, in the corner opposite D. On Extreme/Professional difficulty, the Stones are in slightly different locations but are still hidden in a perfect triangle on the Bookbinder.
Solved by: Match the print on the double-sided stones with the print labeled in each groove. Therefore, the slot that shows a red knight inside a red square needs a lithographic stone that shows the same, and the slot that shows a worn blue hexagon also requires a lithographic stone with a blue hexagon.
Place the four lithographic stones; you will not be able to place them in the correct order until they are all placed. Going clockwise, you want a top-turned D stone, a right-turned C stone, a bottom-turned B stone, and finally an A-stone turned left. The door will open when you have successfully matched all the prints.
