Americans outside Trump Tower reacted to the impeachment of former President Trump as he arrived in New York City ahead of his scheduled appearance.
“I think the government is messing up and they think this will help keep Trump from getting elected again,” said Alan, from the Bronx. “I think he’s going to go bad.”
But Bill supported the accusation.
“Yes, you are going to have a fair trial without any doubt,” he said. “He’s going to be convicted. I don’t think he’s going to do any prison time, but being convicted is fine and he’s not going to win re-election.”
“I think it’s unfair,” said Taysha, from New York. “Crime is up, murder is up, carjackings, all crime is up, but is this what (Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg) is going to focus on?”
“I would prefer you to focus on the people who are pushing people on the subway, hitting people on the head,” he added.
Rick, a 34-year-old New Yorker, sided with Bragg.
“According to Trump, he won’t get a fair trial anywhere,” he said. “He’s guilty as hell. He knows he’s guilty.”
