If you have an old copy of The Police’s “Synchronicity” record, here’s a fun thing to try: take it out of the sleeve and turn it on. At first glance, it may look like his usual black vinyl, but shine a light through it and you just might see a surprise! There are apparently special wax variants of this disc that reveal a hidden color when you shine a light through it. vinylbenjy on Instagram it caught my eye and it shows that your copy is purple. Some commenters said that theirs were different colors, like brown or gray. Someone else even mentioned that certain Elton John records were red. I went through an old Prince album hoping it was purple, but it was amber brown.
