Easy Shredded Chicken Tacos

Shredded Chicken Tacos are really simple to prepare and are deliciously seasoned and juicy. We’re creating these chicken for-tacos straight on the stovetop, so no additional tools are required. The chicken breasts are simmered in tomato sauce and a mixture of savory seasonings while still having their bone and skin on for added taste.

Easy Shredded Chicken Tacos

 Ingredients

3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
½ teaspoon pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups salsa(475 mL), or 1 16 oz jar
tortilla, to serve
pico de gallo, to serve
guacamole, to serve
sour cream, to serve

      Directions

Step: 1 

Combine tomato sauce, vinegar, garlic, cumin, oregano, and sugar in a medium bowl. Adobo is used to season; set away.

Step: 2 

Large skillets with oil over medium-high heat. Season chicken with Adobo. Cook chicken, rotating once, until lightly golden brown on both sides, about 5 minutes. Bring to a boil the saved tomato sauce mixture in the pan (be careful, the tomato sauce can splatter). Heat to a medium-low setting. Cook in a covered pot for 20 minutes, flipping once, or until the center of the breast registers 170 degrees F on a thermometer.

Step: 3 

  Move the chicken to a chopping board and keep the sauce in the pan. Remove and throw away the skin and bones. Chicken breast should be shredded using two forks. Cook the chicken in the skillet with the sauce, stirring to combine, for another 10 minutes or more, or until the sauce has reduced and the chicken is thoroughly coated. Place the chicken mixture in a serving dish. Into warmed corn tortillas, spoon. If desired, garnish with lettuce, tomatoes, avocados, and/or onions. If you like it hot, add some hot sauce.
