MIAMI (wfla) — A passenger died on a cruise ship leaving Miami on Sunday after falling from a balcony, according to reports.
The incident occurred shortly after Virgin Voyages’ Valiant Lady left Miami en route to Roatan, Honduras on Sunday, a spokesman said. Well-informed person.
In a statement, the company spokesman said the passenger fell from his balcony and landed on another person on the lower deck.
According to Virgin Voyages, the first passenger died from his injuries, but the second was not seriously injured.
“We are deeply saddened by this loss of life and our hearts and thoughts go out to this person’s loved ones,” the cruise line statement said.

The ship returned to Miami on Monday after the deadly incident, but resumed its voyage. according to NBC News.
