A viral video of bridesmaids cutting off their dresses during a wedding reception has TikTok viewers divided.
Content Creator Emma (emma.league) posted a clip of her and other bridesmaids at a wedding party cutting off their pale pink knee-length gowns.
“When all the bridesmaids decided we were going to cut our dresses after the reception started,” she captioned the post, which went viral with a whopping 12.5 million views.
In the video they are seen smiling and laughing, with some jokes they would not be dancing depending on how short their dresses end up being.

But while the bridesmaids didn’t see it as much of a problem, many viewers took issue with them making drastic changes to their gowns, while others worried about the bride’s reaction.
TikTok divided by outfit changes
“Those dresses cost too much to throw away like this. No way,” one TikTok user commented.
“Please tell me the girlfriend knew and was okay with this,” another wrote, to which Emma replied that she did and was okay with them making the changes.

in a Follow up, the TikToker showed the bridesmaids dancing and enjoying the reception with the bride after the dress was cut. However, commenters were still divided on whether the dress alterations were the right choice.

“I would be furious, the end result looks like crap,” said one user. “The wild and crazy bridesmaids stole the bride’s attention with crazy things,” added another.
“If I was the girlfriend who paid for this I wouldn’t be very happy,” wrote a third.

Others, however, praised the bridesmaids and said the last-minute changes were a good idea.
“This is such a smart idea. No one ever wears their bridesmaid dress again anyway,” one shared. “They are cute! Much easier for the party too, they turned out great,” another commented.
