Best Buy introduces a new 1TB storage card for Xbox Series X|S -Tc

It’s been over two years since Seagate’s range of expansion cards first became available for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and now we’re finally about to get an alternative option from a new manufacturer in the near future.

According to a Best Buy listing (since removed), Western Digital will release a 1TB Xbox Series X|S expansion card for $179.99. This is slightly lower than the $199.99 MSRP 1TB version made by Seagate.

“As game files get bigger and bigger, the WD_BLACK C50 Xbox Expansion Card is the quick and easy way to increase the capacity of your Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S so you can keep more titles installed. Simply Plug this officially licensed card directly into the dedicated slot on the back of your Xbox Series X|S console and it’s ready to go—no additional software or installation steps needed.

The card offers performance similar to Xbox internal storage for a seamless experience when you install, load, play, and save your favorite games. Keep your library ready to play and get into the action fast with the WD_BLACK C50 Expansion Card for Xbox.”

At the moment, there is no information on the release date of this WD_BLACKC50 expansion card for Xbox Series X | S, nor do we know if it will also be available in 512 GB and 2 TB formats like Seagate’s options. As soon as we hear more, we’ll let you know!

In 2020, Xbox’s Jason Ronald mentioned that “additional capabilities and implementations“, as these cards will be offered in the future, so it’s great to see another company offer an alternative… even if it’s still quite expensive!
