Sagar Ratna is a pure veg restaurant that is located on the ground floor of the Ocean Pearl hotel, a 3-star luxury hotel in the heart of Mangalore.
The entire hotel’s interiors are done extensively in wood combined with beige colors in flooring, walls, etc. The restaurant also follows the same style with beige colors used in the background and dark walnut wood above. Combined with warm lights, the space really invites you in and comforts you on fabric cushion sofas. Each table has banana leaf place-mats that add up to the pure veg category.
We were 3, and we ordered 3 different versions of dosas; Masala Dosa, Butter Masala Dosa and Mysore Dosa. All of them were really amazing. Mysore was spicy while the others were quite normal. Butter added smoothness to the dosa and really upped the taste. The filling was the regular potato curry which was very well cooked and tasted delicious.
On the side we also had Wada, and it was very well prepared. Soft on the inside with a crucnhy exterior, it was perfect with the sambar and chutney.
A wonderful experience and definitely a must visit restaurant when in the city.
